Supporting Startup Founders to Prove What’s Possible

AWS Amazon Web Services

Overview

AWS (Amazon Web Services) is the world’s largest cloud services provider. We mapped startup founders’ journeys and the opportunities for support through content and messaging, as well as broader strategic opportunities to deliver customer value.

The Context

AWS Startups is the world’s largest cloud services provider for the startup community, with the likes of Airbnb, Stripe, Lyft and Slack all running on their infrastructure. However, like most large organisations there are disparate views on the founder’s journey across business maturity. In collaboration with Eleven, our PR sister company in Sydney, we mapped founders’ journeys and the opportunities for content and messaging, as well as broader strategic opportunities to deliver customer value.

The Approach and Outcome

We interviewed business and technical founders across the globe, then created founder archetypes. We then mapped out meta-journeys for the different founder archetypes, identifying the gaps in the existing AWS approach to communicating and providing support for founders.

The Journey Maps were workshopped with the global leadership team in Seattle to provide internal alignment and strategic opportunities, followed by an animated video of the map to ensure longevity and ease of use. The opportunity maps continue to be used by global startup teams to plan and align their CX initiatives and improvements.
